Can you believe it! Apple Inc., The giant tech company based in the U.S, has been sued by a reason which is hard to believe. A Russian man legally filed a case on Apple that the company turned him, Gay.
Apple has faced many legal battles as to patents, brands, devices but this is something that happened for the first time in the history of Apple Inc. that it is being sued for changing the sex of an individual.
The basis of the lawsuit filed against Apple is that the Russain man has received 69 GayCoins from an iPhone Cryptocurrency app. He has also received a message reading “Don’t judge until you try”. When the man gets this message, he felt like he has been detected for establishing a same-sex relationship.
Putting his point of view in the copy of the complaint, he said, “I thought, in truth, how can I judge something without trying? I decided to try same-gender relationships. Now I have a boyfriend and I do not know how to explain this to my parents… my life has been changed for the worse and will never become normal again”
The prejudice for Gay people is still widespread among Russians. The government has taken action against this prejudice and as a result in 2013, the Russian government has passed legislation according to which the so-called Gay propaganda is now completely banned.
The complaint maker says that Apple “pushed” him “towards homosexuality through manipulation”. The changes have caused me moral and mental harm.” This is very serious.
As compensation, now the man wants 1 Million rubles which is approximately 15,320 USD. Stating that the case is very serious, his lawyer – Sapizhat Gusnieva also says that his client is very scared after this incident.
However, the message and payment of cryptocurrency are received through some third-party app, she said that “Apple should have a responsibility for their programs”. The suit was filed on 20th September 2019 and the date of hearing is 17th Oct 2019.
